Get the Right Bike for You

The BP MS 150 is a long-distance bike ride of 182 miles on a paved surface. To successfully complete your journey, you need the right equipment. Visit an Official Bike Store for bike recommendations.

Get Your Bike Properly Fitted

Being fitted to your bike is just as important to your comfort as having the right kind of bike. It should be appropriately sized for you. The saddle, stem and handlebars should also be properly adjusted. All Official Bike Stores offer bike fitting.

Listen to Your Bike

Unusual sounds – such as squeaks, popping, grinding, creaking or rattling – are warning signs of a problem and should be inspected. A complete overhaul is recommended annually, or every 2,000 miles. Official Bike Stores offer free, professional inspections, along with estimates on routine maintenance or repairs for your bike.

Stay Hydrated

Dehydration is consistently the main medical issue on MS 150s. All riders should ensure their bikes have water bottles and cages. The cage secures the water bottle to the bike and provides convenient on-the-road access.

Choose Cycling Shoes

Another comfort idea is using cycling shoes with locking pedals. Cycling shoes have stiff soles to prevent foot flex and fatigue. Special cleats lock into pedals, keeping the shoes from slipping and adding increased cycling efficiency. Your feet may swell during this long ride, so slightly larger cycling shoes will feel great on the second day.

Our Mission

The BP MS 150 Bike Tour is a two-day cycling adventure from Houston to Austin that raises funds to help people living with MS.
